Connections with the national transport network
 

Roads
Kirn is connected to the motorway network via the B 41 road. The A 61 (junction Bad Kreuznach) is about 40 km to the east and the A 62 (junction Birkenfeld) is about 35 km to the west. The B 41 is the main traffic axis in the Nahe region and some parts of it have four, others three lanes. The development of the parts which still have two lanes is in progress.

Railway
Kirn is connected to the national network of the Deutschen Bahn AG and lies on the Mainz - Saarbrücken route. There are about 60 connections per day from Kirn to all the major centres in the Rhineland-Palatinate. The connections to Mainz and the Rhine-Main area are particularly good.

Airport
It takes about 1 hr. 20 mins. to Frankfurt Airport via the B 41 and the motorway. Hahn Airport in the Hunsrück (LTU, Ryanair, Wizz Air and Iceland Express) is just 25 mins. away.
